Renault has launched the Renault Kiger facelift in India at a starting price of ₹6.30 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable compact SUVs in the sub-four-meter category. The updated model continues to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Nissan Magnite.

This is the first major update for the Kiger since its debut in early 2021. The refreshed version arrives shortly after the Triber facelift and introduces cosmetic and feature enhancements while retaining the same powertrains. The new Kiger is offered in four trims: Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion.

Exterior and Interior Updates

The 2025 Renault Kiger facelift gains sharper styling cues. At the front, it features a redesigned grille with Renault’s updated logo, a new split-lighting setup with slim LED DRLs, and tri-projector headlamps. A reworked bumper with an octagonal air dam and fog lamps complements a sculpted hood for a more muscular stance.

The side profile is largely unchanged but now includes new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the taillamps and bumper have been subtly revised, and the skid plate gets a new design. Seven exterior colors are available, including two new shades, Oasis Yellow and Shadow Grey.

Inside, Renault has emphasized comfort and quality. The refreshed cabin offers ventilated leatherette seats, a dual-tone dashboard, and upgraded door trims. Stitching details on the steering wheel, gear knob, and armrest add a premium feel. Practical touches include a rear center armrest with cup holders and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. Renault has also improved noise insulation and cooling efficiency for a more comfortable drive.

Features and Safety Upgrades

The facelifted Kiger introduces several new features, such as a multi-view camera, ventilated front seats, automatic LED headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers. The SUV also gets a new six-speaker Arkamys 3D audio system. It continues with an 8-inch infotainment unit supporting wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and wireless charging.

Safety has been strengthened with 21 standard features, including six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), hill start assist, a tire pressure monitor, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. All seats come with 3-point seatbelts. Higher trims add a take-a-break reminder and belongings alert system, aimed at improving everyday convenience and security.

Powertrain Options

Renault has carried over the same engine lineup for the Renault Kiger facelift. The 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. This engine claims a mileage of 19.83 km/l (ARAI-certified).

The 1.0-liter turbo petrol delivers 99 bhp with torque outputs of 152 Nm (manual) and 160 Nm (CVT automatic). Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT. While performance figures are not disclosed, Renault highlights a strong torque-to-weight ratio for responsive driving.

Market Outlook

Priced from ₹6.30 lakh, the Renault Kiger facelift is the second most affordable SUV in its class after the Nissan Magnite. With its updated design, new features, and enhanced safety equipment, Renault aims to strengthen the model’s value proposition in the crowded compact SUV market.

Compact SUVs remain one of the fastest-growing vehicle categories in India, and Renault is positioning the new Kiger to attract both first-time SUV buyers and families seeking a stylish, feature-rich, and budget-friendly option.
