The Government of Andhra Pradesh signed Memoranda of Understanding worth ₹2.94 lakh crore in the renewable energy sector on Nov. 13 in Visakhapatnam. The agreements were finalized a day before the two-day CII Partnership Summit scheduled to begin on Nov. 14. These Andhra Pradesh renewable energy MoUs aim to accelerate large-scale clean-energy development across multiple districts.
Chief Secretary and Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand said the projects would support pumped hydro storage, green hydrogen, wind, solar, biofuels, and energy storage. He said the initiatives were expected to generate more than 69,800 employment opportunities once implemented.
Vijayanand said the MoUs reflected Andhra Pradesh’s wider effort to position itself as a national hub for energy transition. He said the exchanges, presided over by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, aligned with the State’s goal of improving ease of doing business and enabling faster project execution.
The Andhra Pradesh renewable energy MoUs were signed between the New & Renewable Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh, the Energy Department, and participating companies. Energy Minister Gottipati Ravikumar and senior officials attended the signing.
Major firms participate
Several companies signed new agreements or expanded existing projects. The list included Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd., Chinta Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., ABC Cleantech (Evren) & Axis Energy Ventures, ReNew Group, Four Square Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., Indosol Solar Pvt. Ltd., and Hero Future Energies Pvt. Ltd.
Officials said the projects under these Andhra Pradesh renewable energy MoUs will be taken up in phases. They added that district-level monitoring mechanisms would support approvals, land identification, and infrastructure coordination.
According to the Energy Department, projects in pumped hydro storage and green hydrogen are expected to see early progress because of ongoing policy support and existing investor interest. Solar and wind projects will be planned based on resource availability and grid-integration capacity.

Andhra Pradesh has focused on attracting renewable-energy investments over the past few years to meet rising power demand and strengthen grid reliability. The State has invested in transmission upgrades, renewable-energy corridors, and policy reforms to support developers.
Officials said the latest MoUs build on earlier agreements from investment summits and align with national targets for expanding non-fossil-fuel capacity. They said the State aims to balance industrial power supply, rural development, and long-term sustainability through diversified energy sources.
